Here is an example route we recently developed for a group of friends at the University of Huelva, students of Environment Studies and lovers of ornithology. It was a challenge for us, but one that resulted in a fantastic experience.<\/p>\n

We prepared a route in which they discovered the real\u00a0Do\u00f1ana<\/strong>, the last refuge of biodiversity in Europe. A place of indescribable beauty and great cultural and natural value, which has been declared a World Heritage Site.<\/p>\n

Throughout the\u00a0trip<\/strong>, we visited a wide variety of ecosystems. For example we had the chance to discover the immense fields of rice irrigated by the Guadalquivir river; or to walk through the refreshing forest stream of\u00a0La Rocina<\/strong>. We also enjoyed the beauty of the\u00a0dunes<\/strong>\u00a0present on the littoral, with peculiar wildlife adapted to them.<\/p>\n

We had the great fortune to see flamingos<\/strong> and various species of birds of prey like the short-toed snake eagle<\/strong> and the black kite<\/strong>. Despite being in their home area, we didn\u2019t get to see any lynxes, although we discovered some footprints of other mammals like foxes and badgers.<\/p>\n

Do\u00f1ana, Refuge of Biodiversity<\/h1>\n

Do\u00f1ana can be so much more! We can walk through the\u00a0sandy streets<\/strong>\u00a0of the surprising El Roc\u00edo<\/strong>\u00a0hamlet, where tradition, religion, and nature exist in harmony. You\u2019ll enjoy the chapel, which is dedicated to the\u00a0Virgin of Roc\u00edo<\/strong>, and the adjacent lake, where we can see horses and a multitude of birds resting and eating on the surface. The village is an excellent setting to taste excellent local products.<\/p>\n

You will also be surprised by the incredible landscape of the\u00a0Natural Monument of Acantilado de Asperillo<\/strong>. In there you\u2019ll be able to take a refreshing dip in the Atlantic on those hot days\u2026or any day of the year, if you\u2019re daring enough!<\/p>\n

On the other hand, we can adapt the route to focus on your interests. For example bird watching or taking photographs, among other possibilities. If you want to enjoy other activities, we can also suggest horseback riding along the beach; or taking a jeep along the pristine beach of Do\u00f1ana, in addition to otherwise inaccessible areas.<\/p>\n
