Sevilla, the History of Flamenco
Thanks to this tour, we discover all the aspects that were essential for the flamenco birth, analyzing the diffent cultures that influenced it.
During the guided visit, we answer to questions like “what is the origin of the word Flamenco? or When did the flamenco appear as musical genre?” We particulary speak about the gypsy culture, discovering where they come from and why they settled in Andalusia.
We specially walk through the neighborhood of Triana, one of the most traditional and authentic quarter of Seville, with a unique personality. It’s no by chance that the streets we pass through and the neighbor’s courtyards we discover were the most important setting of the birth of Flamenco.
Then, we go to the other side of Seville crossing the bridge Puente Isabel II, and we discover the important role that it played both in the Flamenco spread and in the urban development throughout centuries of history.
The tour ends in a traditional and local stage in order to watch an incomparable performance, avoiding the mass tourism. There you have the opportunity to wathc a flamenco show in which magic and purity join together to create a great performance, unique in the city.
